I called the very few relatives I have left, to say goodbye, just in case. One never knows what to expect, when something like this major hurricane is brewing. Told them I would call back during the storm or afterwards to tell them what is going on. They are worried about it’s path too, and said if I don’t call them, then they are going to call me. Expect the worse, hope for the best, I guess. Yeah, it was dumb, but we did it. The ship was pretty empty, I guess the others chickened out, but not Mama and me, oh no. It got a little rougher than we expected, but hey, if you ever went on the Sun Cruz out of Ponce Inlet, as rough as it was, this ship during the offshore hurricane was a piece of cake! We did see a rack of wine glasses fall from the bar, and break, and felt some hard bumps as the big ship hit some big waves, but we had our choice of our favorite slot machines….LOL! We figured if the coast guard allowed it to go out, it must of been okay. I told one of my relatives in another state, if there is flooding here during this hurricane with all these retention ponds everywhere you look, then I just don’t know what else anyone could do, to prevent flooding here. She said what? Are you saying some kind of a pond, and I said yeah. She said, I don’t know what you are talking about. I said, you know, a retention pond, or a storm water pond, and she was like???????????? I said, don’t they have any retention ponds around there now, and she said I haven’t seen any anywhere. ?????????????? OMG. I said, no, well they are everywhere here in Florida, and I mean everywhere, and she was like I might as well been talkin’ outer space stuff. ?????????? Are they mainly just here in Florida, and not everywhere? I’m serious. Mama Mia October 5, 2016 at 10:16 pm Reply Mr. Rosen of the Rosen Hotels is a fine man, see, he has offered distress rates for his hotel rooms, due to the hurricane. He could have kept his rooms the same rate and would have filled up just as fast, but he wasn’t trying to be greedy off of people in need.
